It’s an exciting week with Criterion releasing their catalogue to Hulu Plus. Honestly, I think that it makes a subscription worth it. Even if you aren’t really into foreign films, there are still some great titles. And if you’ve been on the fence, this gives you a chance to sample everything Criterion has been working on for $8 for a month.
I am proud to say I started my evening yesterday with Lamorisse’s “The Red Balloon.” I had never gotten to see it before, only clips. It was pretty amazing. I had no idea that Criterion held US distribution rights nor that Criterion even held any short films to proffer on the site.
It’s a great week for cinema fans. It’s a great week for trying something new. It’s a great week, period.
