Wolverine Practices for Sunday
You know, when you think about Hugh Jackman’s popularity and his level of skill, it is surprising he got his big break as Wolverine in the X-men movie. It’s also surprising that fanboys would embrace a song-and-dance man playing their favorite superhero.
Hugh appears to be a pretty decent bloke, though, so I am happy he can swing between projects like The Man from Oz to X-Men Origins: Wolverine and host the Oscars, too.
Way to go, Hugh.
Here’s a sample of what will be in store tomorrow (unless it gets taken down):
What SAG Needs to Do
I regularly read Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily. Her coverage of the contract talks starting with the writer’s strike last year continuing though now has been great.
It gets me that SAG does so might fighting against themselves. They have the most successful actors telling them people who work for scale that they should be fine without making any money off the internet or getting more than pennies for residuals from dvds.
What I think the deal should be is that all actors work for the exact same day rate, whether you are Arne Starr or George Cloony, Tom Hanks or Jay Mewes. That way they can save the Hollywood studios money and get a reminder what it’s like living in LA for $700 per day of work.
They’re agents would have more work, too, because once all actors cost the same, they would really have to hustle to get them jobs.
